It has been quite a journey for the 2008 International Quartet Finalists. The
2002 Rocky Mountain District champs have made seven trips to the International
contest stage, including Top 10 placement each of the past four years.
For these four guys, the love of barbershop and great entertainment has blended
to create show-stopping performances. They have been blessed to see so much
success in such a short time. They are thankful to all the chapters and
individuals who have supported them and are most especially thankful to their
families and friends for the love and encouragement they provide.
They hope to be around for years to come.
JEFF SELANO, Tenor, has been a name in the Barbershop Society for a number of years. A native of Toronto, Canada, Jeff was introduced to Barbershop by his father, Julian, singing in the International champion chorus, The Dukes of Harmony. Jeff sang with the International qualifying quartet, Bandstand, in the '90s, and may also look familiar as the bass in the five-time medalist quartet, Riptide. In addition, Jeff spent six years as a Certified Singing Judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society. He lives near Atlanta, GA with his lovely wife, Mary, and their incredible kids, Julian, Camille, and Annabelle.
JIM CLARK, Lead, got his barbershopping start in the Rocky Mountain District, watching his Dad, Dr. Dan Clark, sing in the RMD quartet, Chordial Celebration, and in the Scottsbluff, NE chorus, the Sugar Valley Singers. While in college, Jim sang in a number of quartets, including the 1995 CSD champ, Freefall, and the medalist college quartet, Millennium. For the past nine years, Jim has sung with his wife and other family members and friends in the mixed octet, The Denver A Cappella Project. He enjoys spending time at home with his wonderful wife, Rhonda, and their beautiful sons, Simon & Seamus.
DARIN DROWN, Baritone, is the only member of Storm Front who makes his living off music. A music educator for the past 16 years, he is currently the Director of Vocal Music at Grandview High School in Aurora, CO. Darin's love of barbershop started early, seeing his father, Gary, sing in the Chordial Celebration quartet and the Sugar Valley Singers chorus in Scottsbluff, NE. While a trumpet major at the University of Nebraska, Darin founded a college quartet who would go on to compete in the first-ever International Collegiate Quartet contest held in New Orleans in 1992. Darin directs the two-time International medalist chorus, Sound of the Rockies, and has also been the musical director and baritone of The Denver A Cappella Project the past nine years, singing with his wife, sister, and other family and friends. Darin spends what little free time he has with his wonderful family - wife, Jenny; son, Colin; and daughter, Mary.
SYD LIBSACK, Bass, has spent all his life immersed in the barbershop hobby. His father, Steve, nearly missed Syd's birth as his quartet, the Chordial Celebration, was returning from a show on that particular weekend. Watching his dad singing in the quartet and the Sugar Valley Singers chorus in Scottsbluff, NE, Syd found himself dreaming of quartet performances. His freshman year of college, Syd found himself at Northwest Missouri State alongside lifelong friend Soren Wohlers. Together, they founded the college quartet, Millennium, which would win the college gold in 2000. Syd currently lives outside Atlanta with his beautiful wife, Abby, and their children, Carley and Graham.
